The view from the tender, “America” as she closes with Titanic. This photograph shows Captain Smith peering down over the starboard bridge wing, as well as third and first class passengers. The lifeboat is emergency cutter number 2. This is the last known picture of Captain Smith.

Captain Edward J. Smith (1850-1912) "He was the very type of a British sea-captain, quiet, with shrewd, keen eyes beneath his shaggy brows, strong in command, gentle in social conserve, modest as a simple seaman, brave as a lion of unblemished honour"  Lloyd's Weekly News after the Titanic was lost.

These images of Titanic have been restored for the Centenary by one of Ireland’s best known commercial photographic companies, Davison & Associates Ltd of Dublin who manage the Irish Picture Library.

Giclée printing has quickly become the standard choice among art galleries and museums as the preferred method for reproducing artwork whilst retaining the highest possible quality standards. There are also benefits in terms of the longevity, and colour-fastness of the prints - which is why we use the Giclée process at The Collectable Art Company.

The print is signed by Edwin or David Davison of The Irish Photographic Library. They are responsible for the renovation of these images and are Members of The Irish Professional Conservators & Restorers Association and Irish Professional Photographers Association.

This print is accompanied by an ‘R.M.S. Titanic Centenary Limited Edition 1912-2012 booklet’. This 28 page lavishly illustrated publication also includes reproductions of some Father Browne’s original photograph album  pages including his hand written notes and photographs of the images that form this Centenary Limited Edition Collection.

Your Certificate of Authenticity is your lifetime guarantee that your print has been produced to The Fine Art Trade Guild Standards with 100% pigmented inks tested to last over 75 years without noticeable fade, on acid free archival fine art papers. It clearly confirms the size of the edition and that the signature is genuine.
